Education of Ethics Ambassadors

Ethics Ambassadors are employes who are trained to use part of their working time to foster an ethical climate and business practices in the organization.  This training program is designed to train selected staff members to work as Ethics Ambassadors.

Description

The role of Ethics Ambassadors is to assure ethical behaviour and business practices throughout the organization. For the team of Ethics Ambassadors respected professionals, who also have good people skills, are recruited from different parts and levels of the organization. They remain active in their professional positions but use part of their working time as ethics agents in their units. On the one hand, they work in their own units in strengthening shared values and norms, helping their peers in understanding and applying the ethical norms and rules of the organization, establishing ethical business practices and solving dilemmas. On the other hand, they spot and analyze ethical risks in the operation, communicate them towards managers and contribute to risk management.

During this program, Ethics Ambassadors are prepared for this role. Their ethical awareness and their competence in ethical analysis and refelection is developed and they learn how to connect to other people, build trust and maintain trusted relations, and offer ethical trainings and advice for peers.

By the end of the program participants:

  • will have understood the role and work of Ethics Ambassadors
  • will have mastered the principles of business ethics, ethical advice and education
